Overview

A1 Dogs & Burgers, located on N Telegraph Rd in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, offers an engaging twist on classic fast food with a focus on hot dogs and burgers enriched by Korean influences. This food truck stands out not only for its vibrant, flavorful menu but also for filling a niche in halal Korean corn dogs—still a rarity in the area.

The menu revolves around a variety of signature items like Chicago Dog, Detroit Coney Dog, and inventive Korean corn dogs such as the Potato-Wrapped Korean Dog and half & half classics with spicy mayo and secret sauce. Burgers like the Gladiator and Cowboy pack bold, satisfying profiles, while specialty fries—Sal’s Fries, Messy Fries, and Loaded Chili Fries—serve as perfect pairings. The addition of coleslaw and options like the Mushroom Swiss Dog and Cheesesteak add further variety and depth.

Customer experiences highlight the quality and freshness of the food. Michelle H praises the attentive service and the hit recommendation for Korean dogs, noting the delightful slaw and a tempting happy hour deal. Sultan Ahmed appreciates the promptness and flavors, especially the Korean Dog, though notes room for improvement on the Detroit Coney Dog’s hot dog presence. Maaz Ahsan emphasizes the departure from typical street hot dogs, highlighting a barbecue flavor that elevates the experience beyond standard street fare.

While the food truck concept inherently limits the available seating and space, several patrons mention the potential benefit of adding benches or a more comfortable spot to enjoy the meals on site. This suggests that A1 Dogs & Burgers targets dynamic food lovers who appreciate fast, flavorful meals but could benefit from a more welcoming space for their culinary adventure.

Overall, A1 Dogs & Burgers delivers a memorable encounter with a thoughtful blend of American and Korean street food traditions. Its emphasis on halal options, combined with a robust menu and positive customer feedback, positions it as a must-visit for both locals and those seeking a fresh take on fast casual dining in Dearborn Heights.

Our first time. The service was great. So nice. We didn’t know what Korean dog to get and their recommendation was perfect. We tried the West Virginia dog (my home) it was good too! They did a good job. The slaw is awesome. Happy Hour 11-4 was perfect. 3/$9.99 dogs!

Delicious and promptly made! Potato-wrapped Korean Dog was so good. Detroit Coney Dog could've been better with more of the hot dog flavor (larger/second dog). Would recommend

Around 11:30-11:45pm tonight, we ordered 2 half & half classic korean corn dogs with spicy mayo and secret sauce. Picked up our order to go and headed home about 30 minutes away. Only found out at home that we only got one cheese potato corn dog. We paid $21.20. Tried to call but the voicemail was full. Please get back to us. -We managed to get a replacement on our next visit there, so all is good. Thank you.

From the outside it looks like any old food truck but as you get closer you get sense that this operation is much larger than it seems. I tried a traditional hotdog as well as their signature Korean corn dogs. Both were delicious and flavorful. The hotdogs carry more of a bbq style flavor rather than the “boiled NYC cart” that I’m used to. I wish the had some benches or seating (which could definitely add to the expletive). But overall this a must visit truck as halal Korean corn dogs are not widely available.

Made a stop at A1 Dogs & Burgers food truck and tried their Crunchy Ramen and Corn Bliss corn dogs. While I can't say I absolutely loved it, the experience was good enough to warrant a return visit. Looking forward to trying out their other menu items in the future.

I HAD to post this mid-bite (yes, I’m literally still eating). That’s how good it is. First off — THANK YOU, thank you, thank you. I’ve been so homesick since moving here from Portland, Oregon, and honestly, food just hasn’t been hitting the same… until now. I’ve been eyeing this food cart every day on my way home, and tonight I finally gave in. I ordered the CEO Burger for myself and the Fireball for my brother — both chef recommendations (bless your taste buds, chef, because WOW). Let me be clear: I. HAVE. NEVER. TASTED. A. BETTER. BURGER. And this is coming from a Portland foodie who worships at the altar of Gordon Ramsay. I’ve been to his BurGR spot in Vegas, and I swear on my last fry — these burgers are better. More flavorful. More juicy. Every single element shines. I could taste love, balance, and maybe even a little magic in there. Also — your staff?? 10/10. Sweet, kind, and totally on point. (They were holding it down at 10PM on 04/22 — please give those angels a raise.) Anyway, consider my appetite officially awakened and my homesick heart comforted. I’ll be back. Probably tomorrow. Maybe even later tonight. No promises.
